Cisco - Next Generation Network
Interactive Presentation
Client: The Purple Group

The Purple Group were looking for a solution to a problem for one of their clients, Cisco Systems. Cisco had a stand at an exhibition where a number of experts would be presenting throughout the day. The problem was, they were all bringing different supporting materials – some brought Powerpoint presentations, some Adobe Acrobat PDF presentations, some video files and some a combination of all of the above.

The Marvellous Media Company was charged with the task of putting all the disparate assets into a coherent interactive presentation.

“Rather than simply bundling everything into a presentation we came up with a more flexible approach” recalls Director Bruce Hazelton. “We do a lot of work for live events and we know that presentations may change right up to the last minute. We devised a system using technology normally found in CD-ROM production that would allow the techs at the exhibition to add and remove assets with minimum fuss.”

The end product consisted of a sequence of menus populated by the available assets. A presenter could choose an item at will and the system would automatically and seamlessly open the asset in the appropriate application – Powerpoint, Acrobat Reader or Windows Media Player.

“We opened the various assets full-screen so that the audience was not aware that we were changing applications.” adds Bruce. “When the presentations were closed the menu came back up automatically. It was all run from touch-screen monitors, enhancing the immediacy of the whole thing. It worked really well.”

“I was delighted with the flexibility of The Marvellous Media Company’s solution.” says Neil Latter of The Purple Group. “I found they have a really proactive approach, and look forward to working with them in the future.”
